How I start my day:
#1 - Wake up before sunrise - pure tranquil qualities dominate the atmosphere during the pre-dawn hours. Often yogis meditate between 3-6 AM, when it is easiest to attain peace of mind. That's a little early for me! So,I try for 20 minutes before sunrise.
#2 - Say a Prayer - "Dear God, you are inside of me, within my every breath, within each flower, bird, and mighty mountain. Your sweet touch reaches everything and I am well protected. Thank you, God, for this beautiful day before me. May joy, love, peace, and compassion be part of my life and all those around me on this day."
#3 - Rehydrate & Cleanse - Splash cool water on my face and eyes. Gently massage my eyelids, then blink 7 times. Drink a glass of room temp water - ideally from a pure copper cup filled the night before. Eat a small amount.
#4 - Indulge in 5-min massage using warm organic oil - then shower.
#5 - Anoint - Dap one drop of essential oil on a few spots.
#6 - Move - Walking or Yoga or Shintaido - Welcome in the energy of the East, South, West, North, Father Sky, Mother Earth, The Center -about 20-30 minutes
#7 Meditate - 1 hour
#8 - Strength Training - NROLFW - M-W-F
#9 - Eat Breakfast
Throughout the day, I stop every so often and ring a bell hanging in my office doorway to remind me to be mindful.
Tell me what you do....do you have rituals?
Coaching Inquiry: How do rituals help us? Why are they important - if they are? What do we learn from traditions?
Namaste,
